Definition:
Check the well-being/safety of someone/something
Rules:
Transitive, Inseparable
Examples:
"I need to check up on Tom, I haven't heard from him in a while, I hope he's ok!"

"My parents are always checking up on me, and making sure I'm ok"
Also as a noun, when you go to the doctor for a 'check' ... we say "I'm just going for a check up"
